K - 8 School

Scarsdale International School is committed to educating the whole child and providing opportunities to learn through experience. Students learn to collaborate, think creatively, reason critically, and communicate effectively.

Broadening the Learning Horizon

The object of teaching in the formal education section of the K-8 School is to set the child’s feet upon a path which would enable the child to learn without the direct input of the teacher. The teacher, then, becomes a facilitator to learning.

Collaboration in Learning

Students’ interaction is maximized through assisted and supervised collaborative projects and assignments. The quarterly arranged Collaborative Week Presentations for the K-8 students provide them an ideal opportunity to develop leadership skills, communication, self and group management, responsibility, and confidence.

Assessments Using Depth of Knowledge (DOKs)

Students’ depth of knowledge is measured using a variety of questions framed in such a way that these identify the level of understanding that the students are expected to demonstrate. Categorizing tasks according to the complexity of thought they require is one way for teachers to create a rich learning environment.

Technology All the Way

Technology is integrated throughout the curriculum and supported by technology coaches. The highly trained Google Certified faculty of Scarsdale International School helps to develop learning opportunities for students using technology as well as teach them how to become responsible digital citizens.
